A short two day trip to udaipur proved to be a much needed break from regular hectic life. While planning a holiday me and my husband needs three things good food, nice weather and good accommodation. And, udaipur obviously, provided it all. It was tough to decide whether to stay in a hotel or a resort. So, we booked hotel Ramada for the first day. And for next two days we preferred the heritage lake side hotel amet haveli.
Though the weather on the first day was very hot yet this heritage place had much to offer. First day stay at hotel ramada was quite comfortable. To beat the heat was the nice pool in the hotel that took our half evening. Evening was nice at fateh sagar chaupatti. You can walk along the fatehsagar and enjoy roadside treat at chaupatti. The cool breeze gave a wonderful feeling.
Next day we checked in ameth haveli. It gives u a complete heritage feeling. The interiors and decor can be classified into one the finest in the city. The best part of the hotel is its restaurant. The Ambrai restaurant is set on the lake. Enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning while having lake view with light drizzling had its own beauty.
City mahal palace is the palace turned museum. It took us 2 to 3 hours to take tour of the whole museum. My hubby hired a guide as he did not want to just roam around the palace. He wanted to know the palace. And it was a wise decision. And it started raining as soon as we were done with the palace. There is a nice coffee shop just at the end of the palace. It was good rescue from the rain. The lunch at jaiwana palace was a treat. A must visit place for all the foodies.
Soon the clouds disappeared and now we headed to vintage car museum. That is for the car lovers showcasing all the vintage cars used by royal family.
And, that was followed by the dinner at Ambrai. This one is must visit. Though the food and service was little disappointing. Yet, we could not escape the beautiful night view of lake and hotel Taj mahal palace decorated with lights in centre of the lake.
In the morning we left Udaipur. Though the place has more to offer but we were bound by the time we had. It was lovely trip.
